The Great Awakening is Happening Now

The great awakening is happening now. The church is waking up and God is stirring in the hearts of His people.

The past three years have been full of pain, turmoil, and have caused thousands upon thousands to cry out to the Lord for mercy, for comfort and for help. God hears our prayers and He always responds.

When God turns our full attention towards Himself, He will at some point cause us to look closely at the sacrifice of Jesus. As believers, we stand at the foot of the cross looking up at our Savior in His pain and agony, and we can’t help but stay silent and in a holy hush before Him. His blood and His sacrifice causes our fighting, back biting, finger-pointing, and slander towards one another to cease. Jesus died for each one of us and His agony was the price paid for every single person that would ever walk the planet.

As we have read the headlines and experienced upheaval and turmoil these past years, we have been angered and enraged, frightened and worried, devastated and crushed. We have called out to the Lord in desperation for Him to “ do something….” ANYTHING!!

God has heard our prayers and has seen our tears. When we have crumbled to the floor because of death and loss, He was hovering over us and catching every tear. The weeping and crying has been necessary to heal individual hearts and to also unite the body of Christ in a very deep and spiritual way. It is through the crushing that we began to inhale the fragrance of Christ and the comforts of His love. It’s impossible to truly know those depths of Christ without the suffering.

The great awakening is an awareness of God‘s presence. The great awakening is us coming to life again after seasons of depression and despair. The great awakening is the prodigal returning home, knowing that nothing in the world satisfies or even compares to living in the presence of God. The great awakening gives us strength when we have been weak and frail; helpless, not able to lift a finger to help ourselves. The great awakening is realizing that only God supplies everything we need.

Only God and His kingdom wisdom lift us higher and takes us from glory to glory. The great awakening allows us to lay down the need for applause, material things, and worldly rank status and instead, run after Jesus to “level up” in kingdom ways.

God. You shine brighter than our worldly circumstances! Would You act and move in order to get our attention; that our eyes would be fixed upon You and only You? May You be our hearts’ one desire and the very One we crave? Illuminate Your word so we may build our lives on a solid foundation. Help us to be about building relationships, marriages, families, and the church rather than tearing them down and throwing rocks at people we disagree with. Let us stop tearing down our brothers and sisters, our family, our neighbors, and let us start loving the way You love us. The mission to rescue the hurting is at hand.

The great awakening is when we see our poor pitiful state and we realize our desperate need for God. We are “awakened” to the fact and truth that we were made by God, for God, and He wants to move through us. Apart from Him we are nothing.

May our praise ring louder and our song be lifted to the One Who deserves all praise! Even in our tears and heartaches, we cry out that He alone is worthy and He alone is the lifter of our heads. He alone is glorious and majestic and all praise is His forever and ever, Amen.

The Great Awakening is Here!
